Why I fell in love with the problem

For the past decade, I have worked with a variety of organizations, from small startups to multinational corporations, on innovation. What does that mean? I have helped pre-seed and seed startups grow, made connections between corporations and startups, and worked with organizations on how to become continuously innovative. This includes coming up with new business lines, acquiring startups to integrate new technologies and solve challenges, building ecosystems, training innovation leaders, developing innovation units and more. I have seen all kinds of organizational structures and challenges, both in the private and public sectors. What I have noticed, across the board, and increasingly so in today’s economic climate, is that data is critical and efficiency is necessary for growth. It is not about continuously hiring in order to fill holes and do more. It’s about making data-based decisions and using your resources correctly to achieve the outcomes you want.

Faros AI and Innovation

Over time, I have seen the ROI for innovation dropping. Specifically, in the past 5 years, research done by Accenture has found that return on innovation investments has fallen 27%, noting that “the gap between what technology makes possible and the ability of companies to realize that value is only going to grow”. This doesn’t mean that companies should stop innovating, but that the importance of efficiency, and the visibility into data around it, is becoming a requirement for survival. In order to grow, companies need to be able to do more with less.

Faros AI is building technology to help companies do just that. If there’s one place that measuring people is uncommon, it’s in the technology development realms. I have seen thousands of startups. But there aren’t a lot of companies that are going to change an industry, like Salesforce did to the Sales and Marketing industry, or like Apple did to the cellphone industry. I think that Faros is one of the few that will. Faros AI is going to change the Engineering industry, drive the future of engineering operations and I’m excited to be a part of that.

Becoming a Team Member

After being a CEO and leading my own firm, many people are asking - why are you joining a company instead of opening one on your own?

It’s not often you meet a team of such incredible people working together for something you believe in. Faros AI’s founders built Salesforce’s AI - Einstein, meaning they are genius engineers, excellent managers, have worked in a company that is an industry leader, and are experienced in leading engineering teams so they understand the pain points personally. They have all the pieces required to build an industry-changing company from the ground up, and to  transform engineering operations to become more data-driven.

As Head of global BD & Partnerships, I’ll be doing what I love - focusing on growth opportunities - while working with a team of extremely talented, kind, knowledgeable people all working together to add value and make an impact, to help companies gain insight into their own workings and grow. It’s going to be a challenge to change an industry, and I know I’m joining the right team at the right time to go on this journey together.

Partnerships - Where we want to start

While I’m just starting this week, we already have a lot of thoughts on how we can continue growing our strategic initiatives with key partners and expand our business offerings in the US, and across the globe. Over the next few months, we are going to build our partnerships programs, focusing on allowing customers to rely on partner apps and experts. Together, we will help our customers grow faster and reach farther. We have the power to do more together for our business, our customers, and our community.
